If you’ve ever gone to a social event where you didn’t know anyone, you know how uncomfortable that can make you feel. Our goal is to eliminate every shred of apprehension and make you feel at home.

Since chiropractic care involves a series of visits, with each one building on the ones before, it’s important that our relationship can go the distance. We’ve found that one of the best ways to have successful patient relationships is to explain everything in advance. No surprises!

The more you understand who we are, what we do and why we do it, the better results you’ll enjoy. It’s as simple as that.

So, check us out here. Poke around. Get to know us. Then, contact us to make an appointment so we can get to know you.

Your First Visit

During your first visit to the office, Dr. Hallows DC and the staff will do a lot of listening. It will be an easy process. The purpose of the initial consultation is so you and the doctor can get to know each other.

Your consultation with Dr. Hallows will give you an opportunity to tour the office and learn a bit more about chiropractic.

You will be asked to fill out the intake and health history paper work which can be obtained from this website (see online forms button on home page) for your convenience or at the office. After filling out paperwork then you’ll meet Dr. Hallows DC. During a brief conversation and review of the intake form and health history, the doctor will try to determine if you are a good candidate for chiropractic care. He will ask few questions and do a lot of listening.

The consultation will give you an opportunity to tour the office, interview Dr. Hallows DC and learn a bit more about chiropractic care. Since the relationship is a partnership approach to better health, it is important that you are comfortable with the personalities, procedures, and policies of the office. The consultation is a great way to find that out.

Then, if Dr Hallows DC thinks chiropractic can help, and you agree, a thorough examination will be the next step. If Dr Hallows DC doesn’t think he can help, he will let you know.

The examination varies based upon what is discovered during the evaluation of the health history. What is found will determine which examinations to be conducted:

Physical Exam

This is a general evaluation that may include the recording of height, weight, pulse, blood pressure, and similar objective measurements.

Orthopedic Exam

These examinations test the patient’s ability to turn, bend, and move key joints of their skeletal system through their expected range of motion.

Neurological Exam

Dermatomes, deep tendon reflexes, muscle strength, and other aspects pointing to the health of your central nervous system will be tested.

Chiropractic Exam

These tests can include postural evaluations, static and dynamic palpation and other procedures to reveal neurological problems.

sEMG

Surface electromyography is an instrument that locates subluxation patterns by measuring electrical activity in the muscles supporting the spine.

X-ray

Diagnostic imaging can help locate any bone abnormalities, fractures and reveal the spine’s phase of spinal decay.

You should plan on about 45-60 minutes for this initial visit.

Your Second Visit

After the examination you will have a report of findings, usually the day of your first visit. Dr. Hallows DC will spend a few minutes reviewing the results and offering answers to the four questions most patients have when they consult an office:

  • What is wrong?
  • Can chiropractic help?
  • How long will it take?
  • How much will it cost?

Regular Visits

The regular visits may require just five to 10 minutes.

With the groundwork laid, Dr. Hallows DC can quickly size up the condition of the spine and nervous system and adjust the patient.

Progress Visits

Progress visits will be performed every dozen visits or so. He will conduct several of the tests performed on the first visit. This will give him a way to compare where the patient is, in relation to where they started. The patient will be encouraged to continue with care even if their symptoms are gone to prevent a relapse of the original problem.

If the patient’s progress is verified by objective examination protocols, a modification will be made to the visit schedule.

We recognize your time is valuable. So we do everything possible to run on time and minimize the impact on your busy life.
